Title: Eine indische Preßstimme über den Aufstand in unserer Kolonie
Source: Deutsch-Ostafrikanische Zeitung, Bd. VII, Nr. 36, 09.09.1905

II. Content
This article is a response to an article that appeared in "The Hindi", an "Indian" newspaper published in neighbouring Zanzibar, blaming the German colonial administration for the uprising, with specific reference to its harsh treatment of the "natives". The DOAZ article strongly criticised the author as much as the "Indian" community as a whole, which the author alleged had not supported the German administration in the conflict.

III. Further Remarks
The article attempts to make the argument that the "Indians" were responsible for the uprising. It is written in a rather patriotic confrontational style. Some groups in German East Africa apparently used the uprising as an occasion to air their grievances about commercial competition from Indian traders based in Zanzibar.
