II. Content
This article cites a report by Mzee bin Ramazani, a "native" loyal to the government, about the uprising in the district of Songea. The author first names the rebellious groups and their leader and then recounts their defeat. The main part describes how the Arab, Raschid bin Masudi Liwardi, united various groups to resist the rebels and received support from the German government. The report ends by drawing the moral from the experience - not to revolt against such a powerful government as the German one.


III. Further Remarks
The report was originally published in the Swahili newspaper Kiongozi, somewhat later translated into German and published in the German newspaper Usambara Post. The report is written in a biblical style, almost as a moral lecture.
