This "Letter to the Editor" is a reaction to rumours about the district administration of Lindi selling too much gunpowder, with regard to the security situation in the colony. It gives exact information about the restrictions in selling gunpowder in this district.
In a final note, the editor refers the readers to the article "Aufstands-Ursachen und Schmuggel." on the front page of the same edition, and reminds them that the gunpowder used in Lindi district was transported from Kilwa District.
