II. Content
This article deals with the military campaign under the leadership of Major von Schleinitz against Maji Maji rebels in the south of Morogoro district, especially around Widunda.. Some of the problems that emerged during the campaign are mentioned in the article, such as the lack of food, desertion of local carriers, and an ill-fated Begegnungsgefecht (attack on a caravan) on 31 December 1905. The article also describes the assault by the Schutztruppe on a cave system in the Lijunge Mountains where local people had found refuge, as well as the destruction of their huts and stores.
